The HP EliteBook 8740w Mobile Workstation is a computer that is targeted for specific people. It is not an inexpensive computer and provides features a typical computer user will not need. This attractive feature-packed computer is manufactured by HP. Packaged in a sleek black box with the HP logo, this HP EliteBook laptop reminds you of the similar packaging Apple uses to package its products. An anodized aluminum case featuring a brushed metal finish is enclosed for keeping the 8740w laptop. The laptop cover mentions the fact that the laptop is an HP EliteBook. This HP EliteBook laptop is durable both inside and out. This HP EliteBook laptop is sturdy enough to not break under a force of 1800 square pounds.
The beauty and strength of the computer makes it look attractive, but its true power is inside. The HP EliteBook 8740w Mobile Workstation is no ordinary computer, and the beginner would probably never realize what is inside. It's nearly like seeing a new teenage driver driving a high profile race car to his high school football game. The seasoned PC user will understand how powerful this computer is because it has Intel Core i7 processor, 8 GB 1333 MHzDDR3 SDRAM, and NVIDIA Quadro 5000m. Other features that can be found are a 17" LED-backlit WXGA anti-glare HP DreamColor display, 500GB Hard drive, and a spill-resistant numeric keyboard, that is full-sized and backlit. Even more features are the 2 MP built-in webcam, microphone, headphones, 4 USB ports, 1 eSATA port, external VGA monitor, and Smart Card Reader. This laptop is called the EliteBook Mobile Workstation, and it does boast of elite features.
When you are on a Windows machine, problems sometimes arise due to upgrade issues. Windows has several tools but they don't solve all the problems. HP provides a Support Assistant that is always on the alert for updates. The Support Assistant downloads and installs available updates to keep your PC in great condition. While it resembles the System and Restore and Disk Cleanup on your PC, having HP take care of this for you is a timesaver. going to forums and locating other resources is accomplished by simply clicking your mouse. If you need support, you can talk with a technician via phone.
You can expect to shell out in the neighborhood of $2000 to $5000 for this computer system but it comes with a three-year warranty. You need not worry when something goes wrong with your computer as a technician will be dispatched at your request. They will even come when you require help. While most people will never use this service, it is nevertheless a nice touch by HP. It is a good way for HP to demonstrate to their customers that they believe in what they are selling, and are willing to stand behind it.
Like every computer, this HP EliteBook laptop may have a couple of negative aspects but that doesn't take away from its superior features. You will have all the portability and power that you need when you become the owner of the HP EliteBook 8740w Mobile Workstation.

3M MP410 and MP220 Mobile Projectors hands-on (Engadget)
3M has just unveiled a pair of new mobile projectors here at CES: the Mobile
Projector MP410 and MP220. Both devices are notably small and compact: the
MP410 measures just four inches in width and length, and stands just one inch
tall, while the MP220 weighs in at less than one pound. The MP410 also
features 1GB of memory, a microSD slot and USB port, and is capable of
projecting 80-inch moving and still images at WXGA resolution, with a
brightness of 300 lumens. The MP220, meanwhile, can beam up to 65-inch images
onto any flat surface and comes packed with 2GB of memory, along with a
brightness of up to 50 lumens. Both are slated to arrive in April, with the
MP410 priced at $600 and the MP220 coming in at $480. We stopped by 3M's booth
at Pepcom this evening to get a closer look at the devices, so check out our
